Here is a carved picture mat that I made for my brother and sister in law. It holds a 8x10 picture. Sorry for the glare at the top. In the hearts at the top it has their initals C K.
Here is the headstall that I built for my brother James. It is a brow-band, throte-latch style that has double adjustment on both sides. It has beautiful red rose marble-like keepers at the top. The brow-band has small nickle spots and large ruby gems. Along is a matching ruby/nickle flower design on the sides. (That is the design that both James and his wife Larissa have on their belts,*See Larissas Belt Post)
Notes: I did not build the tie down that is underneith the headstall.
James built the custom heart bit. *See the Reeds Blacksmith Shop side link for more infomation.
When I turned 14, I wanted a hide of leather for my birthday so I could build a pair of chaps to wear on the ranch we worked on during the summer. So my dad took me and I got to pick out my own hide. Then I made my very first pair of chaps. Four years later I met Sam and found out we had a common talent-Leather Works! From then on, we have been making custom leather products from our home and have gotten to meet some awsome people all over the state that we have made stuff for.
